On 12 and 13 May 2018, Capella Singapore’s signature Cantonese restaurant, Cassia, will serve up a five-course menu so that Mum can truly eat to her heart’s content. Anticipate a selection of rejuvenating Cantonese dishes such as Double-boiled Old Cucumber Soup with Dried Seafood and Steamed Egg White with Hasma and Fresh Milk. The icing on the cake? Hilton Singapore isn’t celebrating Mother’s Day just for a weekend, but for the entire month of May. Yes, you heard it right. Mums are entitled to indulge in the D9 Saturday High Tea Buffet every Saturday for the month of May. Deservingly, she won’t have to fork out a single cent if she’s accompanied by two paying adults. An array of over 30 items await, featuring desserts like D9’s new artisanal cakes; local delights such as Singapore laksa, chilli crab with golden mantou, popiah, chicken and beef satay; and a tantalising seafood bar.

Le Binchotan

Le Binchotan’s Mother’s Day Menu is dedicated to Mum’s greatness. A Mother’s Presence, A Mother’s Hug, A Mother’s Love, A Mother’s Arms and A Mother’s Kiss – these are the names of the delicacies making up the restaurant’s Mother’s Day five-course menu. Mum will get to indulge in mains such as Boston lobster, Japanese seabream, Binchotan Grilled Wagyu and of course, a complimentary cocktail for when she gets thirsty.

Kicking traditional Cantonese cuisine up a notch this Mother’s Day is Mitzo’s executive head chef Nicky Ng. His playful, modern take on Cantonese cuisine is exemplified though dishes such as rosemary roasted pork belly combined with pan-fried Yuan yang dumpling seafood with dried scallops; mushrooms and fungus; cod fish topped with preserved radish in soya sauce, accompanied by tea-smoked pork with bonito; and lobster claw with dried scallops porridge in carrot and pork consomme. Aside from lunch and dinner, a brunch buffet is also available, which features a restaurant specialty: steamed bamboo clam with preserved radish in soya as well as Mitzo’s special barbecued pork.

Porta is an option worthy ruminating over if Mum is a fan of European cuisine. For one day only (13 May), Porta will offer diners a scrumptious array of brunch delicacies such as Fine de Claire Oysters which are air-flown from France; Chicken Waldorf Salad; Rainbow Salad; a main chosen from the new brunch menu; and desserts like Tiramisu, Lemon Tart and Assorted Shooters. Also with The Great Prosecco Countdown, you might want to stay for drinks as well – your first glass of Prosecco starts at $10++, and each subsequent glass will cost $2 less. From the sixth glass onwards, it’s free flow on the house.

Angie’s oyster bar and Sear  have teamed up to present a three- and four-course Mother’s Day lunch menu in Singapore’s CBD. Head chef of Origin Grill Heidi Flanagan has teamed up with her own mother, Patricia Flanagan, to create five culinary masterpieces for Mother’s Day at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore. The menu takes inspiration from Patricia’s home-cooked dishes which chef Hedi used to revel in when she was a child. Join Mum on this touching gastronomic journey through delectables such Poached Prawn and Mango Salad; Lime-Glazed King Salmon Fillet; Rocky Road and Cherry Cheesecake; and The Flanagan’s Pavlova.

Seafood indulgence will be taken to the highest altitude (pun intended) at Stellar At 1-Altitude come Mother’s Day. Mum can anticipate a mouth-watering selection of seafood delights ranging from fresh seafood platters that include Fine de Claire and Loch Fyne oysters to Dashi-poached Alaskan king crab, Hokkaido scallops carpaccio, and green tea cured tuna. TWG Tea’s Breakfast Queen Tea might make a charming gift for Mum, but the luxury tea brand has also come up with it’s very own Mother’s Day set menu. Mum may kick-start her dainty culinary journey by sipping some exquisite booze: the sparkling white wine cocktail infused with Breakfast Queen Tea or a perfectly concocted mocktail of fresh pineapple and orange juice infused with Pink Flamingo Tea. She will then revel in a pan-seared slipper lobster served with a pearl couscous ragout with Wagyu chorizo and king oyster mushrooms. This is accompanied by a langoustine emulsion sprinkled with crushed African Ball Tea leaves and fried ebi. Dessert will take the form of an almond sponge cake served alongside an apricot confit and Vanilla Bourbon Tea ice cream.
